CHRISTIE’S – MARK ROTHKO

Casting an actor to portray Rothko, staging scenes to match various archival stills of Rothko, using archival voice recordings of Elaine DeKooning, Stanley Kuntiz, Dore Ashton, and an impressionistic filming of the painting in a gallery setting, Douglas Sloan created a short film to accompany the exhibition of the Rothko’s #10 painting when it went up for auction in Christie’s NYC gallery. The painting sold for over 80M.





MACY’S - JOY

In time with the release of David O’Russell’s film JOY the real JOY MANGANO signed with Macy’s to sell her line of products. Macy’s engaged Douglas Sloan to direct a series of four product promotional videos for their digital channels to support the launch.








KATY PERRY – UNICEF

As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Katy Perry presented a mock weather report on climate change to highlight the impact it has on children around the world.


Douglas Sloan directed Katy in LA for Red Fuse.





USO – Extraordinary Stories

Douglas Sloan directed and Icontent produced five short films pro bono for the USO Gold Medal awardees representing each of our five armed forces divisions.
The films portrayed the heroic acts, bravery and human sacrifice that our servicemen and women performed in extreme circumstances.





UTC - “Change The World”

To introduce the company’s new value proposition Icontent created a brand film to articulate the new positioning statement and launch it to the financial community.








CINDY SHERMAN - “Untitled Film Stills”

The short documentary finished its 2015 festival run at DOC NYC in the company of some pretty great films.
It was also an Official Selection at Aspen Shortfest, Palm Springs, Montclair, NY Shorts, Guanajuato...






UTC - A SENSE OF MISSION

"A brief note of sincere thanks for your tireless efforts to produce
a "world-class" film for this evening's USO Gala.
The product was exactly what we collectively envisioned at the outset, received extraordinary exclaim tonight (especially from General Dick Myers - a UTC Board member and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs - from the podium...), and told a powerful, emotional story in a short five minutes.

ALLURE - "TRUST"

Allure, the preeminent brand in the beauty category has engaged Icontent to conceive and produce a film for the Conde Nast title.

The film, TRUST, will be the centerpiece of the new marketing platform and will feature the voice of Drew Barrymore. Allure Editor-in-Chief Linda Wells appears on-camera in a light hearted but serious articulation of why the trust between Allure and women everywhere is the most powerful force in the business.





UTC - UNITED TECHNOLOGIES

UTC tapped Icontent to create a cinemascope (projected 10' x 50'),
image driven film for their biannual worldwide conference.






HELZBERG – ‘I AM LOVED’
DIAMONDS FOR VALENTINE’S DAY


Douglas Sloan directed a new real people TV and Digital campaign for Helzberg and the Barkley agency. Stories about the marriage proposal and what it means to be loved are at the center of the conversations between couples about to get married. This is the second phase of the "I am Loved" campaign. According to the latest data collected, the campaign has almost single handedly doubled brand visibility for Helzberg over the past three years.





SLOAN DIRECTS LATEST ROUND OF MACY’S “BACKSTAGE” MOBILE/TV CAMPAIGN.

Icontent’s Douglas Sloan was once again chosen by JWT to direct the Macy’s Backstage spring 2012 campaign.

The campaign’s latest iteration features, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger, Rachel Roy, Donald Trump and exciting newcomer Carlos Santana w/wife Cindy Blackman.

Now, for the first time, the program is expanding to TV - 15 and 30 sec spots featuring Santana and Hilfiger will begin airing in April.

The success of ‘Backstage’ led to Macy’s selection as Mobile Marketer of the Year, 2011 (awarded by Mobile Marketer). The prize is the highest accolade in mobile advertising, marketing and media. ‘Backstage’ has enjoyed a steady and substantial up-tick in overall consumer impressions since the program began in 2011. Sloan and Icontent have created two seasons worth of content for the program.





THE PROMISE PROJECT

Icontent is teaming with the Promise Project, a program within the division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center (in affiliation with New York Presbyterian Hospital) providing educational paths for underserved children struggling with learning disabilities.

Icontent and director Douglas Sloan are in pre-production of a new film, which will raise the visibility of the Promise Project and its mission. As learning disabilities are poorly understood, the film will provide a powerfully educative experience, raising general public awareness and understanding of the subject, and emphasizing the importance of the work done by Promise.

The ‘Promise Project’ is chaired by Dana Buchman. Ms. Buchman is a former designer, and an entrepreneurial pioneer for women in the fashion industry.

Icontent is undertaking the film as a pro-bono endeavor in the interest of raising awareness.





ELLIOTT ERWITT: I BARK AT DOGS WINS AUDIENCE AWARD AT AUSTIN

Douglas Sloan’s short documentary ‘Elliott Erwitt: I Bark At Dogs’ was selected the Audience Award Winner at the Austin Film Festival 2011.

That achievement caps a highly successful 6 months for the film, which was an official selection at the DOC NYC, Interfilm Berlin, Rhode Island, and Woodstock Film Festivals.

The DOC NYC festival created a special event “An Evening with Elliott Erwitt”. Mr. Erwitt appeared with Sloan in person for Q&A following a special screening of “Bark” and Erwitt’s rarely seen documentary shorts.

“Bark” also captured a 2012 CINE Golden Eagle Award.

The film will continue its festival run in 2012.





ICONTENT FEATURED IN ‘REALITY RULES’

Icontent and director Douglas Sloan were recently featured in ‘Reality Rules’, an annual special segment by SourceECreative, which profiles brands, agencies and directors who are leading a shift toward documentary based and reality driven advertising and digital content.
